With 25 years of active practice in Internal Medicine managing about 3000+ patients a year in diverse settings as Hospitals, Nursing Homes and office Dr. Balaji has been able to share his experience and insight to help several Nursing Facilities as their Medical Director to attain optimal clinical competence. He serves as a Medical Director for a Hospice entity and has deep insight across the health care landscape. He has founded a successful Medicare ACO which has shown significant savings through innovation attainable only through years of experience. Dr. Balaji has served on the board of Health Care IT firm ecognize and was instrumental in developing a practice management and EMR software “Remedi EMR”. He has spearheaded several initiatives to optimize care and save cost including a “High Observation Unit” at Nursing Facilities to decrease “Return to Hospital” and ER visits.

He has distinctive leadership abilities around general business management, operational leadership, analytics, strategic use of data to drive outcomes. Gopal was involved in many Mergers and Acquisitions activities streamlining the process, systems and technology solutions. Gopal was instrumental in innovating and consolidating a Healthcare IT business and developed the business. He is currently the CIO of a company, which does face-to-face member interaction, driving increased participation in risk adjustment, case management, and other initiatives which result in enhanced outcomes.
